The April 30 edition of The Dramatist LIVE begins with an introduction to the Guild’s newest committee, the New Media Committee. Committee member Andrew Lippa share a bit of their process with our viewers, explaining, “it's a bit of a Wild West and we're trying to figure out what the rules are... We have to find a way as a community to come together and make sure that it's equitable, that everyone has a seat at the table.” Next, our Ten Questions LIVE features Lynn Nottage in the hot seat. She provides insights on her own writing process, and gives advice, encouraging everyone to “replace judgment with curiosity and sustain the complexity.”
The conversation continues with guest Curtis Moore (who is co-host Amanda Green’s longtime collaborator), along with Diana Burbano, Kristin Idaszak, and Danielle Mohlman. “It's really an act of defiance to be creating art right now,” observes Christine Toy Johnson. “We're not in the room together anymore, but we're still making it happen.”
