In 2020, Congress passed the Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement Act, otherwise known as the CASE Act. It established a small claims court-type tribunal within the U.S. Copyright Office - known as the Copyright Claims Board (“CCB”)- which allow copyright owners, like you, to bring claims for copyright infringement, as well as requests for declaratory judgment, in fair use cases in a more cost efficient way. The CCB is set to launch this spring, and it is sure to be a game changer for copyright owners who want to assert their copyright interests but who do not have the means to bring their cases to a federal court.
