
Atlanta, GA – Synchronicity Theatre has announced Act 1 of its 25th Anniversary year, aiming to take audiences on a journey of self-reflection and celebration while uplifting the voices of women and girls through theatre. Kicking off the 25th season is Synchronicity’s Bold Voices Series and Family Series, as well as new play development and education and outreach events.
The first Bold Voices production will be Kate Hamill’s adaptation Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - #2B, while the Family Series will open with a musical adaptation of John Steptoe’s Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters. The production will feature a book by Karen Abbott and songs by Taryn Janelle and LeRell Ross. It will be followed by Dwayne Hartford’s adaptation of Kate DiCamillo’s The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.
Synchronicity will also continue its arts incubator project Stripped Bare, which provides research and development to four new projects each theatre season. This year’s Stripped Bare projects are Elvenses by Odelia San Diego, Grams & Me by Deja Holmes, The Mad Hatterpillar by Rachel Frawley, and Yanni Stone and the Honeypot Trap by Anterior Leverertt.
