Seattle: Parley Playwrights’ Group
Over the last decade or so in the U.S., a number of grass-roots producing theatre companies have been founded by playwrights. Receiving the most publicity have been 13P in New York, Workhaus Collective in Minneapolis, and The Welders in Washington, D.C. Obsolescence is sometimes planned (13P), sometimes not (Workhaus turned off the lights last year after producing 25 new plays over ten years).
