Notes from Puerto Rico, Part One

A year ago, my wife and I packed our suitcases and made the life-changing decision to move to Puerto Rico. It felt right to be back, helping to rebuild the place that inspired me to become a playwright. I started writing plays when I could not ignore anymore my need to tell the story of Puerto Rico’s political injustice. Now, at this pivotal time for the island, I feel the need to give back by doing what I feel most passionate about: combining theater with education. Roots and Action: Building Community is an educational theater program designed to help high school students discover their abilities as agents of change.
