What was an early, memorable theatrical experience?

The first play I watched in elementary school was How the B52 cockroach learned to fly. It was a local Hawaii play by Lisa Matsumoto and I don’t remember much, but I remember being entertained and loving it. It reminds me of the importance of telling local stories about my communities. 

 

What’s something you wish someone told you when you began your career? 

I wish I knew it was a marathon and not a sprint. I think I wasted a lot of time trying to get to the end of a play quickly rather than write the thing I wanted to write over time.
