Nikkole Salter: Why I Joined the Guild
I always know how long I’ve been at the Guild based on my daughter’s birthday. Jamie was born three months after I started here, and she will be 21 next month, so I guess I’ve been here a good long while.
When I think back to my early days here, I can recall what the Guild looked like then:

Peter Stone, the Guild’s president, was a white gentleman of a certain age, and his fellow officers, through no fault of their own, were of the same generation, gender, and general pallor;
