In your opinion, what is the role of a dramaturg?

Dramaturgs are supportive and curious collaborators. They help me see the work from a new perspective so I can make more informed decisions about how I’m going to write and revise a play. They also might help with research or other tasks I don’t have the time to do on my own. To be transparent, I also work as a dramaturg and this is my personal approach to dramaturgy.
