Ithaca Region: When the Snow Melts
Man writing in a journal by the window

As I sit down to write this report the world outside my window is strangely quiet. Snow seems to do that, despite the sounds of snow plows or the shrieks of kids on sleds. Things are slower. Cornell and Ithaca College contribute much to the theatrical life of this town, so when students and faculty leave for the holidays, things calm down. Add to that the fact that snow keeps some people out of downtown at night, and the fact that a lot of local theatre energy has been going in to The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, and you have a different theatre vibe to the one that marked a busy fall.
