pring is a time of transformation. This concept is the thread that ties together the features included in this edition of the quarterly. In “Why We Do What We Do,” Crystal Skillman and Kelundra Smith reflect on the transformational experience of the National New Play Network’s [NNPN] Rolling World Premiere initiative. In this program, playwrights collaborate with three NNPN Member Theaters over eighteen months to develop and produce three world premiere productions. Each production is separate and distinct and undergoes its own transformation throughout the Rolling World Premiere process.
