Editor’s Notes on the New Musicals Issue

When I’d initially planned this issue and the Summer Issue, they were going to be one New Works Issue encompassing both new plays and new musicals. Then I sat in on Jay and Zeniba’s roundtable (p. 42).
It quickly became clear to me that not only did musical theatre writers need their own edition of The Dramatist in which they could discuss the creation and development new work, but it was just the tip of the iceberg.
