Everyone who has seen them knows that the Blue Ridge Mountains are as enticing as they are ancient. When you visit Roanoke, Virginia for the first time, it’s likely you’ll feel inclined to stop and ask a local for a recommendation on a scenic drive as you pass through, and it’s likely that they’ll tell you to get on Walnut Avenue and head up Mill Mountain towards the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. And while you’re up there, they’ll say, make sure you go to the Star.
