The Dramatist LIVE: Theatre Collaboration
Dramatist Live

The April 30, 2020 edition of The Dramatist LIVE began with an introduction to the Guild’s newest committee, the New Media Committee. Committee member Andrew Lippa shared a bit of their process with our viewers, explaining, “it's a bit of a Wild West and we're trying to figure out what the rules are... We have to find a way as a community to come together and make sure that it's equitable, that everyone has a seat at the table.” If you have questions on live-streaming rights, Zoom, or other forms of new media, please email us at Next, our Ten Questions LIVE featured Lynn Nottage in the hot seat. She provided insights on her own writing process, and gave advice, encouraging everyone to “replace judgment with curiosity and sustain the complexity.”

This past week, Joey Stocks took to Twitter to see what people had to say regarding collaboration during quarantine; he wanted to know how many of DG members have collaborated electronically in the last seven weeks? The electronic collaboration conversation continued on The Dramatist LIVE, with guest Curtis Moore (who is co-host Amanda Green’s longtime collaborator), along with Diana Burbano, Kristin Idaszak, and Danielle Mohlman. “It's really an act of defiance to be creating art right now,” observed Christine Toy Johnson. “We're not in the room together anymore, but we're still making it happen.”
