DG Glossary: Joint Authorship

Joint authorship is a legal doctrine established under the United States Copyright Act (and subsequently interpreted by case law) which provides that those who are deemed co-authors of a work own the unified whole of the work, as opposed to just their independent contributions. In order to understand what that entails, it is necessary to answer two questions.
