The Dramatists Guild, from time to time, provides opportunities for its members to publish letters or articles of interest to playwrights and the general theatrical community. However, the Guild does not necessarily endorse the positions taken or the views expressed in such contributions. All such contributions are subject to peer review by The Dramatist Committee and editing by the Guild.

Dear Dramatist,

I’m glad The Dramatist is focusing on regions that are not New York. It is great to see what is happening around the country and know that you can create theatre where you are. In the recent issue [March/April 2020] centering on the Pacific Northwest theatre scene, however, you neglected to look past the Cascade mountain range, as people often do. Spokane is the second largest city in Washington. Spokane Civic Theatre has won many awards through the American Association of Community Theatres.
