Mike Lew: Why I Joined the Guild
Christine Toy Johnson: Because this issue is titled Call and Response, the core question is how we, as dramatists, have or have not responded to the moment or, if we’ve responded creatively. I know there have been a lot of conversations about whether or not people have felt like they are able to write at this time and whether they are able to write about this time, the rub-up that we might find between individual voices and collective voices, and the power of them to ultimately shape the narrative of what will be remembered about this time, together.
