What is a favorite memory from this season?

My favorite moment of this season has simply been witnessing the return of theatre. The sweetness of welcoming audiences back, and the joy of a crowd.

What is a great bit of advice about playwriting you’ve given or received?

When I was 23, I had my first experience juggling multiple play commissions simultaneously. I was thrilled, but incredibly afraid of failing to deliver. I expressed this fear to a playwright who was balancing far more commissions than I; she said it’s important to always have one project on the side that’s just for you. A piece of work that you don’t owe anyone, that nobody is giving you notes on, that you can just dream up at your own pace.

What’s next?

I’m currently writing for the third season of The Morning Show, so I’ll be full steam ahead through the summer. After that, I’m hoping to tuck myself into a quiet wood somewhere and return to some of my other projects.
