In 2007, then-mayor of San Antonio, Phil Hardberger, and his very arts-attuned wife Linda, vacationed in Paris and so greatly enjoyed the City of Lights’ Nuit Blanche that he came home and went right to work creating a similar event for his city. Calling together his creative leaders, Mayor Hardberger set in motion San Antonio’s very own Luminaria: Arts Come to Light.

Sheila Rinear

is a New Jersey and San Antonio-based award-winning playwright, screenwriter, director, and teacher. She has had over 60 productions of her work that have been commissioned and developed throughout the United States. Her plays are featured on the National New Play Exchange and four of her plays have recently been published by Leicester Bay Theatricals.
