No. 4
Vol. 27
Autumn 2025

The Autumn 2025 issue of The Dramatist Quarterly is devoted to the theme of courage, particularly in the face of censorship. This edition of the quarterly explores the importance of free speech, freedom of expression, and representation, with features including a roundtable with this year’s DLDF Defender award recipients moderated by Robert Schenkkan, an interview with Rhiana Yazzie about her TYA/USA BIPOC Superhero Project production at the Kennedy Center, and an article from Carolyn Gage about Lillian Hellman’s legacy of testifying before the HUAC. Also in this issue, Ankita Raturi answers “Ten Questions” and Daniel Goldfarb reflects on “Why Being a Guild Member Matters.”

THE DRAMATIST is the official journal of the Dramatists Guild of America, the professional organization of playwrights, composers, lyricists, and librettists. It is made possible by funding from the Council of the Dramatists Guild of America, a generous gift from the JOHN LOGAN FOUNDATION through a grant from the Dramatists Guild Foundation, and contributions from Guild members LIKE YOU.
