Barrington Stage Company (BSC) is a not-for-profit professional theatre company with a three-fold mission: to produce top-notch, compelling work; to develop new plays and musicals; and to find fresh, bold ways of bringing new audiences into the theatre, especially young people. Founded in 1981 at Boston University by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre (BPT) is an award-winning professional theatre dedicated to new works. Ford’s Theatre celebrates the legacy of President Abraham Lincoln and explores the American experience through theatre and education. During the Civil War, Ford’s Theatre was one of Washington’s top entertainment venues, giving Washingtonians a much-needed break from the realities of war. President Lincoln, who loved theatre, opera and Shakespeare, visited Ford’s Theatre on at least 10 formal occasions.

Geffen Playhouse has been a hub of the Los Angeles theater scene since opening its doors in 1995. Noted for its intimacy and celebrated for its renowned mix of classic and contemporary plays as well as provocative world premiere productions, the not-for-profit organization continues to present a body of work that garners national recognition.

Est. 1979. Stage West is a regional theatre operating under an S.P.T agreement with Actor's Equity Association. The company nurtures the artistic growth of area actors, directors, designers, and playwrights by providing meaty material and a safe environment in which to explore.

Est. 1983. Stageworks is a professional theatre company in Tampa, FL. They have a script development group called Stagewrights that meets twice a month at Stageworks (with a summer break). Meetings are usually held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. At the first monthly meeting, playwrights bring up to ten pages of a script. Members read the scripts aloud and provide constructive feedback. At the second meeting actors perform a script-in-hand reading of a new play or one act of a play, with a talkback. Meetings are designed for playwrights to get feedback on new drafts as works develop.

The Theatre for a New Audience develops and vitalizes the performance and study of Shakespeare and classic drama.

Est. 1944. Formerly Dramateurs (1944-92). Town Hall Theatre aims to serve the diverse audiences of Lamorinda and the Bay Area by presenting theatre of the highest professional standards that embodies a spirit of intelligent exploration of the human experience. We believe in nurturing new theatre artists through our arts education programs, and in bringing artists, audiences and community together in fellowship.

Two River Theater is committed to creating great American theater by developing and producing work by some of the country’s leading artists. We produce 6+ theatrical productions each year (including classics, world premieres, musicals, and theater for young audiences) and 40+ annual events that reflect our diverse community of Red Bank, New Jersey. Each year, we serve thousands of students and community members through arts and humanities programs at the theater, in schools, and throughout our region.

Est. 1966. Yale Repertory Theatre accepts submissions of full-length plays, musicals, translations, and adaptations. All submissions are considered for productions at Yale Rep and for development opportunities with the Binger Center for New Theatre. Playwrights must submit their work either through established agents or by first sending a letter of inquiry, accompanied by a brief synopsis, cast breakdown, a ten-page dialogue sample, and a résumé. The 24th Annual Festival of One-Act Plays (2023) Each season, The Festival receives approximately 350 submissions. Since its inception in 1998, The Festival has received over 8,000 submissions from across the world and produced 126 world premieres by 99 different playwrights. The Festival presents between five and seven plays each season.

Lab Theater Project is a production company focused on developing new artists in the Tampa Bay community. We are focused on producing new works of emerging playwrights and developing, through education, new artists (Actors, Directors, Stage Managers, and Designers) in our community to continue the growth of the community. We only work with new playwrights. Our goal is to help a playwright through rewrites to culminate in a small production to allow a playwright to see their work, to see it with an audience, to have it done in a controlled, "Lab" environment.

FreeFall Stage is a full-time (offering six to ten productions a year) community theatre company producing plays in a variety of genres and subjects for patrons of all ages, as well as providing classes from stage make-up to acting for both the aspiring and experienced thespian. We Bring Good Nothingness to Life. The IRC's mission is to bring classic absurdist theatre to an international audience in the Philadelphia region. Iron Crow Theatre is Baltimore's queer theatre company. But what does that mean? It means amplifying the voice of LGBTQ+ actors and playwrights, yes, but it also means queer in the sense of pushing things beyond the limits of normal, producing visions that are off-kilter, that forces audiences to see in new ways, to ask new questions about what it means to watch a show.

Since opening its doors in 1991, NTPA – Plano (formerly Plano Children’s Theatre) has welcomed over 2,000,000 students, patrons, members, and sponsors. Selah Theatre Project is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization fiscally sponsored and resident theatre program of the Youth Development Center. Executive Director La Tasha Do’zia-Earley produced the company's first children’s show in 2012 with a small budget, but lots of support from family and friends. Selah Theatre Project has since become the leading year-round dramatic arts education programming in the northern Shenandoah Valley.

The foundation of our company is “Pass It On.” During our tenure, we pass the baton of Lead Producing Playwright from artist-to-artist, giving each playwright the chance to navigate the company using their individual artistic vision. In March 2020 a bunch of theaters* were producing plays, business as usual, when a global pandemic had other plans. Prioritizing the safety of their communities, they made difficult decisions to cease or postpone programming for the remainder of their seasons. But the story doesn’t end there. With a spirit of resilience, adaptation, and invitation, they came together to create the Play At Home project, a series of short plays commissioned specifically for this moment of unprecedented isolation to inspire joy and connection for all.

The eighth annual Powers New Voices Festival, four days of readings of new plays by some of the most exciting voices writing for the American theatre will be presented virtually for the first time, streaming online January 21–24, 2021 on the free virtual Hopin platform.
