dg resource directory
The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

Only active members or subscribers of the Guild may use the Resource Directory.

In the fall of 1967, the "Martin County Players" started as an adult drama clas at the Instructional Center of Stuart, but because of the subject matter of "The Brick and the Rose" (drugs) the school board refused to allow it to be presented at the school. St. Joseph's College (subsequently F.I.T.) temporarily offered the use of their auditorium, and the production was well received. This incident led the group to change their name to "The Renegade Players". Being frustrated by censorship and inadequate facilities the troupe determined to find a way to become independent. As fate would...

We are focused on producing new works of emerging playwrights and developing, through education, new artists (Actors, Directors, Stage Managers, and Designers) in our community to continue the growth of the community. We only work with new playwrights. Our goal is to help a playwright through rewrites to culminate in a small production to allow a playwright to see their work, to see it with an audience, to have it done in a controlled, "Lab" environment.
  • The leader of the club is Mickee Faust himself, the foul-mouth, illegitimate sewer rat brother of that better known, better groomed cartoon creation. In real life, this cigar chomping, male rodent is deaf, female performance artist Terry Galloway. Ostensibly Faust has grown embittered by stories about the "other" side of his family: the Parades of Lights, the castles, the sleeping beauties and the constant singing of happy songs. And it has driven him into madness—and a subversive brand of theater. Rallying around this rebellious rat bastard are the three dozen members of the Club who call...
