dg resource directory
The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

Only active members or subscribers of the Guild may use the Resource Directory.

  • If you are going to see live theater in Nashville, there's a good chance you are going to the Darkhorse to see it. • Mary Ragland, Founder Mary Ragland almost single-handedly brought opera to our community through her extraordinary efforts as founder and first president of Nashville Opera Association. With degrees from the Newcomb and Juilliard Schools of Music, a professional career as a soprano, and membership on both the Board and National Council of the Metropolitan Opera, Mary’s dream is being realized as the Nashville Opera is one of the fastest growing opera companies in the United States. Mary, who died in 1999, left a bequest from her estate to set up a fund in her name ensuring that her vision...

  • At the Arts at Center Street, we do not seek to create art simply for its own sake, or to produce something “beautiful” without evaluating the cost. Rather, we recognize art as a tool to communicate values, to provoke emotion and lead to introspection and beneficial conversation. To this end, we foster opportunities for education and performance in dance, music, theater, and poetry and public speaking. We accept the challenge of creating entertainment that is characterized by meaning and substance, that will affect people deeply and play a part in the transformation of their lives for the...

I want to personally thank all who have shared my vision of growing and restoring the Temple Theatre these past six years. It occurred to me that reaching out to all who have come to love… this historic old movie palace through Facebook and this, our own webpage, was a way to reach a multitude of friends, both old and new. Many fond memories of attending shows and movies in the Temple are cherished by local residents, dating back several generations. I would like to enlighten the public and perhaps dispel a misconception regarding the Temple Theatre. First and most importantly, The Temple is...
