The Echo Theater Company has presented 60 Los Angeles Premiere Productions, 48 of them World Premieres and of those, 28 were commissioned. Raised in a basement, fed on radioactive trash, Brooklyn based Rat Queen Theatre Company creates devised musicals that reimagine American history. We find that a lot of historical writing is neglectful of the truth and, honestly -- boring. We use history to question everyone’s assumptions (including our own) about the origins of our society. We utilize the unabashedly loud, queer, and ostentatious to dive deeper into the narratives we think we know and uncover what may have been overlooked.
