dg resource directory
The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

Only active members or subscribers of the Guild may use the Resource Directory.

A new theatrical licensing company is on the scene, with shows both new and established and an all-digital model for materials. Uproar Theatricals was created to transform how regional, school, stock, and amateur groups license plays and musicals by offering works centering on characters in their teens through 30s and by streamlining the materials rentals process. The company is founded by Broadway entertainment lawyer Nathan Sheffield, playwright and theatre educator Kyle Holmes, actor and director Laura Hall, and composer David Taylor Gomes.

The Nancy Dean award for Lesbian Playwrights is to honor a woman who was at the forefront of Lesbian, queer, gay, genderqueer, gender-noncomforming, trans, intersex and people of color movements. We honor her focus and writing on Lesbian relationships before the time of the Stonewall rebellion. Her writings were the precursor to social change. In that spirit of struggle and often hidden desire we encourage the submission of new plays that address the conflict of lesbian, queer or gay, trans and nonbinary women struggling to live and love their best lives. In these times of social definition...
