The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

  • Hear Me Out Monologues seeks to expand and encourage new groundbreaking in the craft of monologue in order to better equip a generation of playwrights and screenwriters with the power to make unforgettable drama (and comedy) happen within the narrow confines of the Zoom box.
  • With live theatre being rendered impossible due to the unprecedented circumstances of COVID-19, our small actor family was determined to continue to work. We also decided to use the time in quarantine to experiment with a digital medium for producing some of Shakespeare’s best plays and beyond. We are pleased to say that our mission was successful, and the Royal Social Distancing Company is still producing new and exciting virtual theatre experiences. We have grown our network to include actors, playwrights, directors and theatre makers all over the world, and we won’t stop there.
