dg resource directory
The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

Only active members or subscribers of the Guild may use the Resource Directory.

The Department of Writing began its MFA program in September, 2008. The two objectives of the program are to create a publishable or producible body of work, as a major writing project, in one of five genres (fiction, creative nonfiction, stageplay, screenplay and poetry) and to train students in the teaching of writing at the post-secondary level.
  • Study with our faculty of internationally renowned, award-winning authors in a student-focused program that blends the best of traditional workshop and leading edge pedagogy.
  • Achieve your professional goals in the performing arts with the only Master of Fine Arts in Theatre in Idaho. This program provides intensive training and on-stage opportunities to develop your talents in performance, costumes, directing, dramatic writing, lighting, and scenery.
  • Spokane Falls Community College meets the needs of our community by advancing student achievement through quality, accessible learning opportunities that embrace diversity, promote equity, and foster global awareness.
  • Study feature film and television screenwriting with Academy and Emmy Award-winning writers, producers, and development executives at the School of Writing for Film, Television, and Digital Media. Learn visual storytelling from the ground up.
  • We will challenge your understanding of theory, craft, and performance. Courses like Writing in Sound and Social Justice Narratives will inspire you to take risks and try new styles. Our faculty, all widely published, will encourage you to experiment with multimedia and cross-genre work. One of the perks of being at an art school is the opportunity to take courses outside of the writing discipline as well as collaborate with painters, photographers, filmmakers, bookmakers, and more.
  • From the heart of a diverse community, San Francisco State University honors roots, stimulates intellectual and personal development, promotes equity, and inspires the courage to lead, create, and innovate.
