dg resource directory
The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

Only active members or subscribers of the Guild may use the Resource Directory.

The Nautilus Composer-Librettist Studio is provides an opportunity for five writers and five composers to work with five professional performers, exploring the possibilities and basic elements of music-theater. The studio focuses on the process of collaboration through a series of brief exploratory assignments for the writers and composers. The exercises are then sight-read by the performers in brief working sessions. The participants rotate partners, and the process is repeated four more times. Within the two-week period, all composers work with all writers and all performers. Toward the end...

Since 1986 Nautilus (formerly The New Music-Theater Ensemble) has provided opportunities for the artistic growth of music-theater artists who create, develop, and produce new operas and other forms of music-theater that are emotionally expansive, dramatically engaging, and spiritually stimulating. We form partnerships between creators, performers, and audiences in order to contribute to the quality and diversity of new American music-theater, and we envision an extended family of artists and audiences that uses music-theater as a tool to support the individual and collective growth of the...

Gadfly Theatre Productions is entering ANOTHER season of queer, feminist art and wild ride it's been! We've tackled queer identity, community infighting, abortion, and more queer geekery than even thought to exist in theatre canon previously. We had a beautiful art gallery for a season, and we let it go to find a bigger, more accessible space (which we're still working on!) We brought Drunk Queer History and Sober Queer History into the world--two great outlets for queer storytellers and improv artists to rally the local LGBTQ+ community around stories from the annals of queer history as...
