The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

  • The Playwright Development Program (PDP) is a series of two-day workshops conducted by nationally-renowned playwrights in conjunction with the Theatre League of South Florida and the Deering Estate at Cutler. The program is designed to provide intensive support for developing new work from Miami-Dade County’s growing and diverse community of playwrights.   • THE GREENHOUSE is a play development program at FIU Theatre supporting South Florida playwrights. Three playwrights were selected for one-week intensive residencies in the summer to workshop/revise a draft of a full-length play. A director, a dramaturg, and age-appropriate actors will work with the playwright. The week will culminate in a public reading of the revised work — this year, virtually on Zoom.
