The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

  • Fundraiser Help is a comprehensive database that offers information on how to raise funds through various means, including the writing of grants.

    The program operates on a two-year cycle: Songwriters, composers, and writers deadline: November 1, 2018. Artists residing in N.C. for at least one year prior to the deadline and at least 18 years old are eligible. They must be a U.S. citizen or holder of permanent resident alien status and must remain a N.C. resident and be physically present in the state during the grant period. Artists who received the fellowship grant in the past five years or are enrolled in an academic or degree-granting program at the time of application or during the grant period are not eligible.

  • Nash Arts is a private, nonprofit organization, which celebrates, promotes and produces artists and arts activities, provides support to other area arts organizations and encourages and generates arts education in order to enhance the quality of life in Nash County. Our organization showcases local, regional and national artists, professional and emerging, as well as self-taught artists and craftsmen. Our goal is to reach out to all members of our community.
  • The Arts Center’s community theatre has been a part of the Rocky Mount community for more than 50 years. The Theatre offers a wide variety of productions, including comedies, dramas, musicals, and children’s theatre, and relies on volunteers to continue its tradition of success.
  • The Tom Behm Award provides professional development funds to people working or studying in the field of Theatre for Youth to seek professional development — whether to attend a conference or to assist with education credits. The evening is always unique, absurd, irreverent and enormous fun for actors and audiences alike.
