Please be advised that this online event will be conducted primarily in Spanish. Join us on Thursday, November 18 for a workshop and group discussion for plays written in the Spanish language, led by Dramatists Guild Regional Representatives, Diana Burbano (Southern California) and Tere Martínez (Puerto Rico)!

Dramatists who write creative material in the Spanish Language and of the Latinx and native Spanish-speaking diaspora are strongly encouraged to attend and to participate.

Thursday, November 18
Atlantic Time: 7pm - 8:30pm
Eastern Time: 6pm – 7:30pm
Central Time: 5pm - 6:30pm
Mountain Time: 4pm – 5:30pm
Pacific Time: 3pm – 4:30pm

We will kick off the event with a workshop entitled Submission Strategies for Spanish Language Plays and Musicals, led by Diana Burbano, playwright, actor, and teaching artist at South Coast Repertory and Breath of Fire Latina Theatre Ensemble. Diana will advise participants on the best ways to find and create opportunities for their work, attain resources and best practices for submitting scripts, and learn how to best create a supportive professional network.

Following Diana's workshop, Tere Martínez, playwright and Artistic Director of Roots and Action, will lead a working group discussion. This conversation will build upon the discourse offered by participants during our previous event in July. Tere will help us continue to explore ways in which we can engage in idea-sharing and envision future work, so that the American theatre can be a cultural leader in the inclusion of artists who write and perform in the Spanish language. This discussion is an excellent way to become more involved in the ongoing work of this group if you are passionate about language inclusion in theatre.

This event, which is inspired by participant feedback, is intended to be a follow up to our July 29 webcast, Writing & Producing in Spanish | Reshaping Theatre in the USA. The event is free and open to all.
