DG members are invited to attend the unveiling of the Lorraine Hansberry sculpture installation on Thursday, June 9 at 4pm by the TKTS steps (at Broadway and 47th street).
This event will feature the installation's sculptor Alison Saar, as well as Mamie Hansberry, Nantille Hansberry, Taye Hansberry, Lynn Nottage, LaChanze, The Lillys, and more.

The Lorraine Hansberry sculpture installation, which is part of a larger Lorraine Hansberry Initiative by The Lillys, will tour the nation this coming year. It is intended to raise public awareness of the full breadth of Hansberry’s work and teachings, which are of the utmost importance at this crucial time in history. The initiative also includes a scholarship fund that will cover the living expenses of female and non-binary dramatic writers of color in graduate school and allow them protected time to write, alleviating pressure from financial obligations.
