The Dramatists Guild announces a three-month dues relief program.
We are aware that many dramatists in our community are experiencing extreme and unanticipated financial hardship right now. Therefore, we have come to the decision that all active members will receive a three-month extension on minimum basic dues starting March 27, 2020. We're extending this grace period to all those who are unable to make a dues payment at this time but wish to maintain their Guild membership. However, we do encourage any member with financial stability to pay member dues at their appropriate dues date. Modified dues dates will be available to all members on April 10.
Also, members will not be dropped from our membership rolls during these three months. Similarly, any member who is currently in arrears will also receive a three-month extension on their membership. Any active payment plan that would have billed within the three months after March 27, is put on hold, including monthly payment plans. Please note, any monthly payment plan created between March 27 and April 1 is eligible for a three month hold. Any monthly plan created April 2 and after will continue as normal.
We are not able to offer this extension to new members who join after March 27, previously dropped members or members reinstating their membership after March 27.
Furthermore, during this time of uncertainty, the Guild will be providing resources to non-members for free. Artists will be able to use our new online Resource Directory and online Resource Calendar, as well as access free, online archival issues of The Dramatist, and view free DG Webinars. However, access to model contracts, the reviewing of unsigned contracts, and the ability to receive Business Affairs advice via the BA Help Desk will all remain available only to members.
