See free theatre in New York City's outer boroughs!

This fall, the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment  will be presenting the fifth annual Broadway in the Boros series. Starting September 16, Broadway performers and musicians will visit a different outer borough each week and they will take part in a free, hour-long performance that showcases vignettes from currently running Broadway musicals. No advanced tickets or reservations are necessary to view these performances; simply show up at the appointed time and location indicated below.

This year's participating musicals include Beetlejuice  (music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, book by Scott Brown and Anthony King), Book of Mormon (book, music, and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone), Chicago (music by John Kander, book and lyrics by Fred Ebb), Kinky Boots (book by Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper), Little Shop of Horrors (music by Alan Menken, book and lyrics by Howard Ashman), Moulin Rouge! The Musical (book by John Logan), SIX (book, music, and lyrics by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss), and Wicked (book by Winnie Holzman, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz).

These weekly performances will be hosted by  Sirius XM Radio's Julie James.  ASL interpreters will be on site to accompany the performers at all shows.

“We are thrilled to announce the return of ‘Broadway in the Boros,’ which will bring the amazing talent and spectacle of Broadway to communities across NYC this fall,” said Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, Anne del Castillo. “After a two-year hiatus in the wake of the pandemic, this signature series offers a wonderful opportunity for New Yorkers to come together and celebrate these incredible shows that draw people from all over the world to our beloved city.”
