Are you a Teacher or Educator? We Need Your Help!
The Dramatists Guild’s Education Committee is currently working to discover ways that we can provide assistance to anyone whoteaches or uses dramatic literature in their work. We want to provide assistance and resources, but first we need to know what you need!
Enclosed, you'll find our Educator/Teaching Survey that is designed for anybody who teaches playwriting and/or uses plays or dramatic literature in any kind of classroom (traditional or otherwise) to students of any age.
We welcome responses from anyone who uses dramatic literature in your teaching, DG member or not. Your answers (and your questions) will help shape the work of the Education Committee, and the Guild itself.
We are currently planning a week-long event in October to kick off an exciting new resource webpage, but what else can the Guild provide? We think this survey is the first step to discovering the answers.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a ‘teacher’ in the traditional sense, take a look at the survey and see if any of our questions apply to the work you’re already doing.
You could be:
- An English teacher or professor using plays in a literature classroom;
- A theatre history or playwriting teacher working in a classroom;
- A playwright leading a talkback;
- A volunteer in a non-traditional classroom;
- or...fill in the blank!
Remember, the Guild is always here for you and sometimes, we need to hear from you to move forward.
