Member Dues Survey
We're writing to you amid the most uncertain time you may have ever experienced as a dramatist. A global pandemic has shut down stages around the world, plunging theaters and playwrights alike into crisis. At the same time, many of us in the field have been challenged to take real responsibility for the racial and economic inequities we knowingly and unknowingly perpetuate in the American theater. Meanwhile, streaming has become an exciting new outlet for writers, even as it destabilizes theatrical norms. While much of our field is in flux, we are happy to say the Dramatists Guild is hard at work, fully staffed, busy protecting the rights we've been defending for over a century.
Here at the DG, we have worked to make sure membership has value, above and beyond the moral and ethical imperative of standing together with your colleagues for your collective survival.
In an effort to help you, we will be reaching out to all members, by mail and email, to assess how to help those who are unable to pay dues at this time. Paying your member dues is important, but it is also important to serve our members during this shift within our industry and in a time of need.
If you are in financial need, please apply for an Emergency Grant with the Dramatists Guild Foundation. Please note DGF funds cannot be used to pay Guild dues.

ACTION ALERT: Protect Your Post Office & Right to Vote
The Dramatists Guild of America is a national organization that relies on the U.S. Post Office to deliver our magazine - The Dramatist, notices, member cards, invoices, dues payments, regional event promotions and much much more to our over 8,900 members across the United States and abroad. As you may have heard, the US Post Office, under the current Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, recently made a series of substantial cuts which removed mail sorting machines, postal boxes, employee hours and more.
Many are concerned that these far-reaching cuts will amount to voter suppression for the millions of Americans who rely on mail ballots as their sole method of voter participation.
