Timothy Ruppert

Playwright

Originally from Yonkers, New York, Timothy Ruppert began his writing career with a one-act version of Vivienne, for which he received an Outstanding Playwright Award nomination at the Tenth Pittsburgh New Works Festival in 2000. Two-act titles performed within the last five years include the Pulitzer Prize-nominated The Consorts (June 2016), Vivienne (December 2018), and Savage Lands: A Colonial Comedy (February 2020); one-act titles include 'Stars over Yonkers' (forthcoming, August 2021), the basis for his current two-act project, Serenade: A Post-COVID Comedy. Ruppert teaches composition, literature, playwriting, and creative writing at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
