Sue Yocum

Playwright

Sue Yocum spends as much time as possible pursuing two passions: animal rescue and writing. Sue created Playwrights for Pets in 2005, which produces play-reading benefits for animal rescue organizations in the NYC metropolitan area. Sue also created and led a writing and performance workshop for teens at the New York Foundling Center in 2004, which culminated in a variety show performed for clients and staff.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sue grew up in Edison, New Jersey. After graduating from Temple University, she lived in Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey, and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY where she has has been a  resident for most of her adult life. Having begun her life in the theater as an actress, Sue now works as a  playwright and director. Member: Dramatists Guild, Actors’ Equity, SAG-AFTRA, Charles Maryan’s Playwrights/Directors Workshop, and the Barrow Group’s FAB Women.
