Born, Brooklyn, NY. Early clarinet studies. M.A. Theater, Hunter College.Served in New York Army National Guard, 1963-69. Productions on Off and Off-Off Broadway, regionals. Published plays: Samuel French, Inc., Dramatists Play Service, Best Short Plays 1978, Dramatics, Abyss: SUNY Journal of the Humanities. Honors & Awards: NJSCA, Shubert Fellowship, John Golden Award, winner, 2009 Nathan Miller History Play Contest, Samuel French Original Short Play Festival (OOB), CAPS Grant, Finalist, National Play Award. Alumnus, New Dramatists; O’Neill Playwright, Columbia Pictures Television Workshop for Writers. Favorite playwrights:Alfred Jarry, Ionesco, Pirandello. Recent forays into drama include plays about Hemingway, Freud, Mary Todd Lincoln, jazz legend, Lester Young, and “Portrait of an Actress.” Lifelong Mozartean.
