Sarah is a playwright, media artist, and advocate whose plays have been seen at The O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, Geffen Playhouse, Public Theater, Vineyard Theatre, Valdez Theatre Conference, InterAct Theatre Company, IAMA Theatre Company, and Centenary Stage’s Women Playwrights Series. Her work as a media artist has been screened at The Kitchen, MOMA, New Museum, Central Park SummerStage, Hamptons Film Festival, AFI Fest, and Clermont-Ferrand. Plays include: ABIGAIL (O’Neill, ANPF, Bay Street New Works, and Blue Ink finalist); MARVEL-OUS MONICA; IN WHICH MONICA LEWINSKY IS A SUPERHERO HELL-BENT ON REVENGE (O’Neill official selection, BAPF semi-finalist); and 110 STORIES (published by Playscripts and produced at over 130 theaters, performed by actors including Billy Crudup, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Edie Falco, James Gandolfini, Samuel L. Jackson, Cynthia Nixon, Tonya Pinkins, Jay O. Sanders, Tony Shalhoub, and Kathleen Turner.) Honors include Princess Grace semifinalist and a New York Foundation for the Arts grant. Publications include “Actor’s Choice: Monologues for Women” and “She Persisted: 100 Monologues by Women+ over 40.” Sarah’s essays have appeared in American Theatre magazine, HuffPost, and New York Times. Recent press includes TDF magazine’s “Why Female Playwrights Are Reimagining Arthur Miller's Work.” Sarah teaches playwriting at SF Creative Writing Institute and docudrama workshops to theatre educators. Sarah is a Dramatists Guild member and served as an Executive Committee member of Honor Roll! an advocacy group for women+ playwrights over 40.
