Ruth Apolonia Zamoyta’s plays have had productions and readings off-Broadway and regionally. Her play “The Judge and His Daughter” was honorable mention at the 2025 Dynamic Duos festival at Urban Stages, NYC, her play “The Widow” was semi-finalist at the 2024 National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, her play “The Incels” was nominated for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize in 2021, her plays “The Caregivers” and “The Fencers” were semifinalists in the Bay Area Playwrights Festival 2018-19, her short play “Eleanor Roosevelt’s Pudding” was included in a 2021 Telly Award-winning online play festival, and her pilot “Helene: Hitler’s Jewish Athlete” was finalist at the Austin Film Festival pitch contest in 2022. Zamoyta is in the advanced bookwriting class of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. She was the recipient of a NJ State Council on the Arts fellowship, and has had residencies at NJ Play Lab and Art House Productions. She has degrees from Columbia University, NYU, and St. John’s University, and is a member of Dramatists Guild, Maestra, and HonorRoll!. ruthzamoyta.com
