Neil Bartram
Composer and Lyricist Neil Bartram wrote new songs and expanded the classic Sherman Brothers' score for Disney’s Bedknobs & Broomsticks (UK tour 2021-22). He is the composer and lyricist of The Story of My Life (Broadway – 4 Drama Desk Award nominations – Outstanding Music, Lyrics, Book and Musical). His musical The Theory of Relativity premiered at Goodspeed and Off-West End in 2015, went on to be MTI’s most-produced title in 2021, and launched the TikTok and YouTube viral sensation “The End of The Line.”
His other works include The Adventures of Pinocchio (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre / YPT Toronto), an English-language adaptation of Les Belles-Soeurs (Canadian tour), Something Wicked This Way Comes (11 Barrymore Award nominations), You Are Here (Off-West End), and Senza Luce (in development). Neil’s score for Shakespeare in Love (Chicago Shakespeare Theater / Asolo Rep) was nominated for a Jeff Award.
Other awards include the ASCAP Foundation’s Yellen Award, a Jonathan Larson Foundation Award, a Dramatists Guild Fellowship and a Dora Award.
The Story of My Life and The Theory of Relativity are licensed through Music Theatre International. The Adventures of Pinocchio is licensed through Concord Theatricals. Cast albums include The Story of My Life and The Theory of Relativity (PS Classics).
Born in the UK, raised in Canada and based in New York City, Neil is a member of the Dramatists Guild, ASCAP and an alumnus of the BMI Lehman Engel Music Theatre Workshop. He is published by Warner/Chappell Music.
