Justin Rayna is an award-winning percussionist, composer, producer, pianist, performer, choreographer, stunt man, acrobat, tumbler, husband, and father. He graduated from McCaskey high school in 2000, having won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for recording and independently releasing his own solo piano albums. As a career, Justin has coached gymnastics and tumbling for over 20 years. He has also marched for Drum Corps International, winning the 2001 Garden State Circuit snare solo competition, and has performed in percussion and acrobatic shows at Hershey Park and Dollywood, as well as film stunts. In 2018 Justin released his debut album INTENSIFY, presenting a full-length concert featuring seven dance companies, three circus arts companies, two actors, and a 16-piece live orchestra. His full-length musical Legend City has been awarded the first alternate for both the National Partners of American Theater Award and the David L. Shelton award at KCACTF 2020 Region IV as well as being a semi-finalist in the Eugene O’Neill National Music Theater Conference in 2021. In addition to his in-depth experience, Justin holds a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Music (theory and composition) and Theatre (design and production) from East Tennessee State University. He is also a member of Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Drawing on a throng of influences, Justin’s music has been compared to David Lanz, John Tesh, Dream Theater, Yanni, Israel Houghton, Drum Corps International, and Cirque du Soleil. Justin brings an inventive fusion to his music that has a unique voice; one that is truly exciting and imaginative.
