Jin

Playwright

Apart from my 17 books, I've had four plays produced: Luther's Trumpet (2018), Galileo's Torch (2014, '16, '17),  Sherman the Peacemaker (1979 & 2015), and Jonestown Express (1984). Details below.

Highlights

"Jonestown Express" premiered at Trinity Square Repertory Company in Providence in May 1984, was directed by Adrian Hall, and published by TCG as one of the best new plays of that year.

"Sherman the Peacemaker" premiered at the PlayMaker's Repertory Company in Chapel Hill, N.C. in 1979 and again on the 150th anniversary of the end of the U.S. Civil War in 2015 at the Stone Hill Amphitheater, Flint Hill, Va.

"Galileo's Torch" also premiered at Stone Hill in 2014 and went on to productions at the Italian Embassy in Washington, D.C., the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse, the Weitzenhoffer Theatre in Norman, Oklahoma, Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., and the Castleton Festival in 2017.

"Luther's Trumpet", an adaptation of my 2015 book, Luther's Fortress, premiered on September 22, 2018 at the Stone Hill Amphitheater.

All three Stone Hill productions were directed by Rick Davis, currently the Dean of Performing Arts at George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.
