Hannah Logan

Playwright

Hannah Logan is an actor, writer, director, coach and producer. Her short film Reaching for Sky, which she wrote, directed, produced and starred in, was selected for inclusion in the San Diego International Film Festival. She also received a Best Actress nomination for the film. Co-lead, Marc Sylwestrzak was also nominated. She received a San Diego Critics’ Circle Award for her portrayal of Agnes in ion theatre’s production of Bug, and received a Best Actress nomination for her portrayal of Virginia in New Village Arts’ The Clean House.

Hannah’s full-length play, Trailerville was produced in the Moving Arts space in Los Angeles and at Kraine Theater in the East Village in New York, directed by Eileen Galindo (Why Women Kill), and featured the as-yet-unknown P.J. Marshall (American Horror Story, Underground).

Work: In Progress, a one-person show written and performed by Hannah was chosen as a “Critic’s Pick” in the 2013 San Diego International Fringe Festival.

Her short plays “My Best Friend “ and “Tiny Trains and Hummingbirds” appeared in New Cafe’s production of Out to Lunch in 2017 at the San Diego International Fringe Festival, which was awarded a “Best of the Fest” title by San Diego Union Tribune. Hannah’s pieces were respectively called “best of the bunch” and “a winner.”

Additionally, Hannah also directed Oded Gross’ controversial short play Stain  to a First Place win in Scripps Ranch Theatre’s Out on a Limb festival in June of 2019.

As one-half of Logan Squared Productions, she co-produces theatre and film projects and other artsy things, including the award-winning 24-hour play festival THAT 24-HOUR THING, the collaborative Juneteenth video “Say Their Names, Hear Their Voices” and the global online theatre event, Theatre is the Cure, which brought together artists from all over the world.

These last two mentioned ventures, together, were named “Best Pandemic-related Project,” by San Diego Union Tribune, selected from all the theatrical endeavors produced in San Diego during the pandemic in 2020. Theatre is the Cure included several of Hannah’s own pieces, selected by a judging panel who read submissions absent playwrights’ identities. “Say Their Names, Hear Their Voices” and many of the performances from that four-month-long global event can be seen here: https://bit.ly/theatreisthecure

Hannah is currently working on a TV pilot and a play with a co-writer she met in a Zoom reading, both ironic gifts of the pandemic, and she has recently written quite a few short stories which can be found here: https://vocal.media/authors/hannah-logan
