Playwright/director/producer/dramaturg. His work has been commissioned by the Kitchen Theatre and the Actors Workshop of Ithaca. His play Ghosts won the 2001 Mildred and Albert Panowski Award and Oatmeal and a Cigarette was selected Critics’ Pick at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival.
He is the founder and artistic director of the annual Ithaca Fringe Festival; founder of Wolf’s Mouth Theatre Company and Bad Dog! Productions. He also produces and hosts Onstage/Offstage, a podcast now in its fifth year of production featuring interviews with theatre professionals of all walks and live readings of hot-off-the-printer plays. His book, Workshopping the New Play, a Guide for Playwrights, Directors, and Dramaturgs, is published by Hal Leonard/Applause Books and his play Oatmeal and a Cigarette is published by Broadway Play Publishing. He is also a photojournalist who has published Collateral Damage, which features his pictures from two trips to Iraq in 2003. He received his M.F.A. in creative writing/playwriting from Goddard College.
