Flo Ankah

Playwright Lyricist

I moved to NYC from my French farm to study modern dance and work as an actress. I also explored the worlds of opera, improv comedy and healing arts. Along the way, I wrote the cover letter to my green card petition which is a work of art, and three solo performances for Joe's Pub at The Public Theater and Feinstein's/54 Below. My first ten-minute play was very successful because the actors I originally cast met and are now married. I like to think that I have great taste in teachers, some of them include Stefanie Zadravec, Gary Garrison, Mark Bly, Andrea Lepcio, Rick Crom and Armando Diaz. I work everyday in voiceovers, reading somebody else's words in French and English with a sexy accent, discerning with precision the correct elocution... and intuiting my way through the copy so that I can get out from the booth early - and play. I like fountain pens, punctuation and organized binders.  French and American citizen.

Highlights
