Eliot Byerrum is the playwriting pen name of mystery author Ellen Byerrum. While Byerrum took a break from plays for a dozen years to write mysteries, she missed the theatre and crafting plays. Byerrum is also a former Washington, D.C., journalist, and a graduate of private investigator school in Virginia although she currently resides in Denver. Byerrum has returned to playwriting with her latest full-length dramatic comedy, FATHER JEREMY'S CHRISTMAS JUBILEE. She has also recently rewritten and reimagined the climax of her drama, THE ANGEL OF DEATH RISES EARLY, which combines mystery and suspense.
Her plays GUMSHOE RENDEZVOUS (2001) and A CHRISTMAS CACTUS (1995) are published by Samuel French Inc. The latter play has been produced every Christmas season in the US and Canada, more than 100 productions to date. Her one-act play INTERVIEWING TECHNIQUES FOR THE SELF-CONSCIOUS was published in Short Short Plays by The Playwrights Forum, of Washington, D.C. Byerrum is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
In addition to plays, Byerrum pens the Crime of Fashion Mystery series. Two of the books, KILLER HAIR and HOSTILE MAKEOVER, were filmed by the Lifetime Movie Network. Her degree is in journalism. Eliot Byerrum is on the web at www.ellenbyerrum.com, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
