About the Author

D. A. Dorwart is an awarding-winning director-writer whose work has appeared on and Off-Broadway, in regional theatre and opera, and on television. His writing includes translations, stage and film adaptations, and original works for both stage and screen. He is the recipient of the Julie Harris Playwriting Award, the Empire State Playwriting Award, four John Golden Awards in Directing, and a TCG/PEW grant for Arena Stage and The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. In addition, he has contributed as a guest artist/ professor at Radcliffe/Harvard, M.I.T., Suffolk University, AADA, Rutgers, the Universities of Tennessee and East Carolina, NYU, and Juilliard. Mr. Dorwart is an honors graduate of Amherst College and received an M.F.A. from Smith College. He has done post-graduate work in film at NYU and in Shakespeare at the University of Birmingham, the Stratford Shakespeare Institute, and the Royal Shakespeare Company in England. Mr. Dorwart is currently working on his first novel The Sorrows of Gathering, a compelling courtroom drama and unconventional love story due out in 2022. (dadaltd@aol.com)
