Dana Aber
Dana Aber is a performer, producer, collaborator, and creator. She is a 20+year veteran of the professional stage in NYC & across the globe.
Dana writes poems, essays, lyrics, and plays. A 3rd generation teacher and storyteller, she guest-teaches for Baruch College & Lynchburg University and has a background in educational outreach from Walnut Street Theatre. An accomplished solo performer and playwright, she received a 2024 NYSCA Grant from the State of New York Council on the Arts. Dana’s autobiographical 1-woman musical about PTSD recovery, Baggage at the Door, premiered Off-Broadway in 2023.Baggage at the Door has been translated into Español (neutral mid-central American Spanish, via Guadalajara). Her 1-person play FINAL BLOW, exploring the cultural guilt and blame placed on boundary setting, debuted in at NY Theatrer Festival and toured to Cleveland in 2022. Dana wrote the 1-person play Save/Reload with and for her brother, Bway's Drew Aber, about cyclical depression and identity-exploration through video gaming.
