Christine Evans is a playwright and novelist. Her plays have been produced in her native Australia, the US, Canada, England and Wales and published by Samuel French and elsewhere. Notable productions: American Repertory Theater, HERE Arts (NYC), Chaskis Theatre (Arts Above, West End,London), Perishable Theatre, Red Fern Theater, Spooky Action Theater, Crowded Fire, Belvoir St. (Australia), the Adelaide International Festival of the Arts and elsewhere.

Selected honors include the Rella Lossy Playwrights Award (Slow Falling Bird); the Jane Chambers Playwriting Award and “Plays for the 21st Century” Award (Trojan Barbie); MacDowell Colony and Yaddo artist residencies; Bogliasco Foundation Fellowship; Rockefeller Bellagio Center Fellowship and two Rhode Island State Council on the Arts Playwriting Fellowships.

 

Christine holds an M.F.A. and Ph.D. from Brown and taught at Harvard from 2007-12. She is a Playwrights’ Center Core Member Alum, an Affiliated Artist with Boston’s Sleeping Weazel and an Associate Artist at UK-based Playbox Theatre.
